In the past few days La Ruta Inka facebook page has been reposting some of my images. I thought it would be cool to pick out my favorite blog postings and re share them with everyone. So here they are; in order by date:
National Museum of Anthropology, Mexico City, Mexico.
"An Olmec head. These are incredible. In addition to being enormous, these heads are also known for their features which puzzle people because they more closely resemble African or Pacific Islander features than those of Mexico’s indigenous populations."
Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mexico City, Mexico
The story of the cloak on top of the Mexican flag in this image is a beautiful one. The Virgin Marry appeared to a boy named Juan Diego and so he could prove to the Spanish Archbishop he had seen her, she crated a image of her self in his cloak. You can read up on the full story of the cloakhere.
