Governor Chafee Visits Central Falls

   
     Governor Lincoln Chafee welcome to Central Falls.  On Monday my good friend Councilman James Diossa ask me if I would cover an event for him on Wednesday, which I said yes too.  The event was a tour he gave to the Governor of Rhode Island to local business on one of the main streets in Central Falls; Dexter Street.

     The City of Central Falls has recently gonna bankrupt so this tour "was organized to highlight the vibrancy and determination of local business owners to succeed despite the City’s recent bankruptcy filing, and to better connect Central Falls businesses with economic development resources offered by the state."

     I just hope this visit is a step towards helping the city I grow up in and not just a politicians trying to look good for the media. 

Gradation is the welcoming to "the really world".

     Last month I was asked by a mother to start on a month long project that made me remember the end of my high school years and think about my long journey in what we call "the really world" so far.  Maria's son Pablo was gradating from Scituate High School and was receiving a ton of awards, so Maria asked me if I could go photograph these events and then at the end make a album that she could give to her son.  

     

    To design and order the album I used Adoramapix.  This was my first time using them for anything and I loved how easy their program to design the album was.  I still haven't received the album but if I like like quality of it I will definitely us them again to make more albums.  Below is the layout of the album from cover to cover. By the way the images from prom are not mine. 

Boston Sport Blogapalooza 3

     Last time I posted here was Friday, April 15 and today is Friday, July 1 meaning that I have been slacking with my "blogger duties".  But last Saturday I had the chance to photographer an awesome event, Boston Sport Blogapalooza 3 and being there made me realize I have to keep up with my blog.
  

    Boston Sport Blogapalooza 3 was a gathering in Boston at West End Johnnie's, where over 150 bloggers and sports fans came together to network, talking about sports and social media, and just to have a great time.

     The event had an silent auction and raffles where some of the proceeds went toward the Red Cross for the victims of the torrnatos in western Mass.  There was also a great artist playing music, Brian Richard.

     One of my favorite part of the event was the guest panels talking about the four major Boston sport teams and social media, all lead by Butch Stearns from The Pulse Network.  I listen to sport talk radio all the time, which the panels felt a lot like but the awesome part about it was that you could see them talking in person and it was people coming from different organizations and not just the same one.  So it made the talks very diverse and you could hear different points of view.

    After the five panels spoke it was time for the raffle tickets to be drawn.  It was great to see peoples reaction as they waited and looked at their tickets to see if they had won and then seeing them react when they did have the winning ticket.  At the same time their was interviews going on for the different media groups that were there.
